Minimax design skill for AI agents

Overview

Minimax is a cozy, deserted-island design system skill file for AI coding assistants. It creates interfaces with warm cream surfaces, coffee-brown ink, leafy green brand moments, and cheerful accent panels that feel soft, friendly, and handcrafted without becoming messy.

The system is built for products that should feel approachable and low-pressure: community tools, dashboards, onboarding flows, marketplaces, hobby apps, and playful SaaS experiences. It gives generated UI a sunny, rounded personality while keeping typography, spacing, and states explicit enough for production work.

Design Tokens

Color Palette

Minimax uses a warm island palette with cream paper, sage and mint surfaces, a leafy green brand color, and small bursts of sun-yellow, sky-blue, coral, and plum.

Token Value Purpose
Surface #FBFAF1 Warm cream page and panel backgrounds
Secondary Surface #EAF7EF Soft mint and sage section backgrounds
Brand #008160 Primary actions, active states, links, and brand accents
Brand Strong #00684D Stronger buttons, focus states, and high-emphasis accents
Heading #574A30 Coffee-brown headings and primary interface copy
Warning #E29A2B Sun-yellow highlights, ribbons, and warm attention states

Dark mode turns the same visual language into a nighttime island: deep pine-teal surfaces, lantern-warm cream text, and brighter green accents. Color should always resolve through tokens rather than manual theme swaps.

Typography

Minimax pairs Zilla Slab for headings and button labels with Libre Franklin for body and UI text. Zilla Slab gives the interface its chunky signboard character, while Libre Franklin keeps paragraphs, labels, and dense controls readable.

Headings are bold and cheerful, buttons read like friendly signposts, and body text stays neutral enough for longer content. The system also permits Baloo 2 as an optional display-only alternative for rare wordmark moments.

Spacing and Shape

The system uses an 8px spacing rhythm with generous section padding, 24px card gaps, and 1152px centered containers. Corners are deliberately soft: cards use 16px radius, buttons use full pills, and panels should feel cushioned rather than sharp.

Component Language

Cards are solid-fill rounded panels with soft warm shadows. They should feel like app tiles or island signboards, not bordered enterprise cards. Buttons are coffee-brown pill CTAs with white text, a trailing arrow, and a springy hover motion. Decorative frames, ribbon navigation, mint backgrounds, and subtle leaf patterns are encouraged when they support the interface hierarchy.

Best For

Use Minimax when generated UI should feel warm, welcoming, and lightly playful while still being structured. It works especially well for community products, consumer dashboards, education tools, onboarding pages, and apps that benefit from a softer emotional tone.
